LifeMoments are unique, sometimes fleeting opportunites to give back. In today's ever changing world with its triumphs and trials, we don't have to look far to find places to make a difference. God has challenged us to get involved and make a positive change in the lives of people around us. As He has blessed us, we are encouraged to bless others. Many scriptures speak specifically about this issue.
- "And if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday." Isaiah 58:10
- "If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him." 1John 3:17
- "In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" Acts 20:35
- "A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor." Proverbs 22:9
- "Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share." 1Timothy 6:17-18
- "Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. 'So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." Matthew 6:1-4
- "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For the measusre you use, it will be measured to you." Luke 6:38
Christ wisely knew that if we choose to shift our focus from ourselves to others, something amazing begins to happen. Our troubles take on less significance, and slowly we become more compassionate, tolerant, and willing to invest in the welfare of others. In other words, we become more like Christ! Once this change of heart takes root, we begin to deliberately seek out opportunities to serve others... just as Christ encouraged us to do by the example He set over 2,000 years ago.

At LifeSpring Community Church, we are particularly concerned about our surrounding community, and how as individual members of the Body of Christ we can help make someone else's life better, as well as live out our Christian faith. It's time to be proactive, get creative, and encourage one another to become part of a solution.
- Assist an elderly neighbor
- Contribute to the food bank
- Get involved in a sponsored event to cure disease
- Make and deliver a meal to a shut-in
- Donate items to help a family in need
- Volunteer at a local shelter or soup kitchen
