A Word from         our Leadership

In a world that will often leave us empty and hurting, the church should be a place of refuge. In the church we should find love, encouragement and answers - especially for the difficult places of life. We should hear songs, testimonies and messages which proclaim the power of God and tell of the ways He works in our lives. We should find real people, who wrestle with real problems, who have found a real God; one who has brought joy, peace and fulfillment to their lives. The purpose of the church should not be to push religion, rather to help others discover a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ. The church should be a place of celebration, worship, learning, service and fellowship, all enveloped in a strong sense of “family unity”. These thoughts describe the essence of LifeSpring Church.

At LifeSpring you will find contemporary styled ministry with a “trace” of tradition. We strive to present the truth of God’s Word in a way that is relevant to our society. We love our young adults, teens and children and are constantly seeking ways to build and strengthen ministries for them. We are a congregation still in the early stages of development, but our vision is strong and our mission is clear. LifeSpring is an exciting place to call “home”.

We pray you will become a part of the LifeSpring family! Our hearts and doors are open to you. We believe LifeSpring is great place to worship, serve and build relationships. We’re sure you will too!

History

LifeSpring Community Church officially began ministry May 31,1998. The first public worship service was held September 20th of the same year.

LifeSpring was born through the providence of God when an unusual series of events brought together a core group of people with a desire to conceive an evangelical Bible based church. The people were of various backgrounds, but their love for one another and for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, compelled them to go forward. With guidance from Pastor Chris Dyer and District Superintendent Jeffrey Mansell the core group joined the Wesleyan Church of America and began its journey towards official organization.

After meeting in homes, holding organizational meetings and many weeks of prayer, the church launched with 32 committed people. The official “Kick Off” service was held with only 78 in attendance.

LifeSpring is currently the fastest growing church in the Buckeye area, with nearly 250 attendees. The church purchased 9 acres of property on Lester Rd. in Valley City and in the spring/summer of 2006 started phase 1 of building a new multi-purpose worship facility. On December 24, 2006, we held our first service in our "permanent" home in Valley City.

LifeSpring’s name is derived from Scripture. In the Gospel of John, chapter four, Jesus met a woman from Samaria who came to draw water from a well. From what we read, she was a woman who lived a difficult and empty life. Knowing this, Jesus offered her a drink of what He referred to as “living water”. When the woman questioned Him concerning this water, He said, “…whoever drinks this water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become a spring of water welling up to eternal life”. In John, chapter seven, Jesus said, “Whoever believes in Me, streams of living water will flow from within him”. In Jesus we find the Spring of Life! He is the “Life-Giver”. John, chapter ten, verse ten, proclaims that Jesus came that we might “have LIFE and have it more abundantly”. This is the great message of LifeSpring Community Church.

Basic Beliefs

We believe… in one eternal God consisting of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe…in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth and sinless life. In His death He provided a complete sacrifice for the sins of all humanity. He was raised from the dead on the third day, ascended into Heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father interceding for His Church.

We believe… in the imminent return of Jesus Christ at which time the rapture of the church will take place.

We believe… in the personal work of the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin and guides us to the truth of Jesus Christ. He dwells within all who believe, leading them in righteousness and holiness; filling, empowering and gifting them for victorious living and fruitful service.

We believe… in the Holy Bible as the written, inspired and infallible word of God, containing all truth necessary for salvation and holy living.

We believe… in humankind’s need for a Savior. The Bible teaches that sin separates us from God our Creator and causes spiritual death. If we want to restore our relationship with God and find life, both in this world and in eternity, we must repent of our sins, seek the forgiveness of God and trust in Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. Through Christ we can find true life and be assured of a home in Heaven. We cannot save ourselves by simply saying and doing good things. We can be saved only by the grace of God through Jesus Christ.

Core Values

According to directives from the Bible and the Vision God has given this local Body of Believers, LifeSpring is fully dedicated to the following Core Values for the life and ministry of the church.

LifeSpring Church is:

Incarnational:
Just as God was in Christ, Christ is in the church. When the unbelieving world looks at the church they should see Christ! The church is the body of Christ and we should be doing what He did!

Contextual:
The church will work consistently to make God’s truth relevant and applicable to our changing world. We will practice a willingness to change our methods, yet, never changing the essential message.

Missional:
Life is a mission and every place we live and go is a mission field! Just as Christ was “sent” by God we are sent by Christ to live out His purposes for our lives and to reach a world who needs Him.

Transformational:
The church is a body of transformed people who are consistently being transformed into the image of Christ. At the same time, the church should be helping God transform the world around us by helping people take steps of faith so they will come to know God and grow to be more like Him.

Biblical:
The church is defined by and built upon the Word of God. The Bible is His life changing, life giving truth. We will exalt God’s Word as the final authority for faith, life and salvation.

Spiritual:
The life of the church should never be focused upon or driven by money, politics, man made tradition or human devised purposes. Instead the church, being focused on God’s word, and led by God’s Spirit, should be spiritually empowered and motivated while pursuing the purposes and desire s of God. The people of the church should be God seekers; people who seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Multi-generational:
It is the privilege of the church to bring every new generation to the Spring of Life in Jesus Christ. Despite the differences that may sometimes make us feel uncomfortable, we should be on a constant mission to reach the next generation.

Mission Statement

It is our mission to guide every generation to the Spring of Life in Jesus Christ!

In the Gospel of John, chapter four, Jesus met a woman from Samaria drawing water from a well. Her life was complex and devastated. He, seeing the thirsting of her soul, offered her a drink which would insure she would never thirst again. Therefore, it is the mission of LifeSpring Community Church, to guide all we affect to the “spring of life” which is found only in Jesus Christ. In Him we find new life, fullness of life, and life everlasting. Through worship, discipleship, fellowship, service and outreach, we will proclaim this truth with conviction and create an environment that will produce within people a desire to consistently draw from God’s life-giving well.

Vision Statement

It is the vision of LifeSpring Community Church to reach each generation for Jesus Christ through ministries which are culturally relevant and faithful to God’s Word.We will accomplish this through...

Communication with God.

Sharing God’s love for every generation.

A concerted effort to be aware of cultural changes and needs, and then, while standing on the foundation of God’s word, make the necessary changes to meet those needs.

Perpetually producing spiritual health within the church which will cause us to place our love for Christ and others above our love for ourselves, unnecessary tradition and irrelevant history.

Helping people find wholeness of life through growth in the Christian faith. Much of this will be accomplished through learning, prayer, encouragement and relationships discovered through small group ministries.

Aggressive outreach ministries that will be appealing to the residents of the ministry area. We will do this by annual assessment of the growth and needs of the population, and then by advertising and evangelizing in the manner most appropriate and effective.

The development of dynamic worship, educational, social and outreach ministries for the children and youth in our ministry area.

Spring of Life

Drinking From the Spring of Life…..

There is a great new life to be found in Jesus Christ! He is the source of life here and for eternity. If you have not found this life, we would like to help you find it.

Q. What stands between us and this life God has for us?
A. The simple answer is….sin.
There is no one righteous, not even one. (Romans 3: 10)
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3: 23)
For the wages of sin are death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6: 23)
The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8: 6)

Q. What do we need to do to solve this problem?
A. God has given us the solution in His Son, Jesus Christ. Here are the steps you need to take to finding life in Christ:
Confess . . . If we confess our sins He is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1: 9)
Repent . . .  Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.
      (Acts 3: 19)
Believe . . . Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life. (John 3: 36)
Receive . . . Yet all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become the children of God.

(John 1:12)

A prayer to receive new life in Christ . . .
Heavenly Father, I want to find life in Christ and have assurance of eternal life in Heaven. I believe that Jesus died for my sins, rose again, and lives for me today. I confess my sins and ask for Your forgiveness. I repent of my sins and by faith receive Jesus into my heart. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" I claim this promise and ask that you make me a new creation. Please give me power to live victoriously as you prepare a place for me in Heaven. Thank you for making me your child! In Jesus’ name, amen.

If you prayed this prayer and desire to know more about the Christian life, please call the office or visit this Sunday!
